I am fascinated by white orchids. I believe they represent the simplicity of romance.

The soft white petals that grab your attention while they expose their fiery centers. I was hoping to convey their seduction while also showing their simple beauty and regency. White is such a clean and bright surface, but don't be fooled. Depending on the lighting there are many colors that are reflected. The challenge is to depict the emotions and feelings you want to show by utilizing selections of all those colors to avoid it looking like a kaleidoscope.

This was a painting created for Robert and Veronique. I thank them for their support and for this wonderful opportunity!
